Our Story
RMDS began its journey in 2009 as a vibrant community for data enthusiasts, including quantitative researchers, data scientists, and machine learning experts. Quickly gaining recognition for its innovative approach, RMDS established itself as a global force, using data and AI to advance research and collaboration. Supported by notable partners like the City of Los Angeles and Disney, RMDS expanded its offerings through events, training, and unique projects, fostering growth and development within and beyond the Los Angeles research community.

In 2019, RMDS Lab emerged, further extending our services in collaboration with prestigious partners such as Caltech, NASA JPL, and Amazon. Through our annual conference, specialized training, and impactful projects like the LA COVID Risk Mapping, RMDS Lab solidified its leadership in data science and AI. Moving forward, RMDS Lab is dedicated to pioneering artificial intelligence tools, including OpenAI-powered GPT tools, to accelerate research and enhance outcomes, continuing our mission to empower the global research community.
At the forefront of innovation, RMDS Lab, led by IBM’s former Chief Data Scientist and an advisor to the Harvard Data Science Review, excels in enhancing research speed and success rates in data science projects. Known for its ecosystem approach and the RM4Es framework, RMDS Lab now leverages cutting-edge artificial intelligence, including GPTs, to offer unparalleled support to researchers.
